Self Portrait
We learned how to do glazes in class and had to do a self portrait. I'm happy with the glaze, not so much the structure.

Color wheel
We had to create a color wheel design for my color theory class. Here it is, spent around 20 hours on it, definitely could have made it better, but ran out of time.

Sketches from school
Just a few quick sketches I did before class, nothing fancy. Messed up on the tree, oh well. The duck was difficult. Girl was feeding it and it kept moving.

Pucks
Been a while since I've posted on here, been busy with life. School is starting in week, so I figured I would get a little practice in since it's been a while. Realized after doing this that I am getting rusty. Going to have to stop being lazy and start doing these more.
Perspective is way off, especially on the green puck. Learned that round objects in perspective are hard if you just try to eyeball it. (which is what I did). Lighting is also off. siiighhhh

Jellyfish
Overall I think it turned out ok. Contrast could use some work. It's also a little messed up in a few areas.

Fun with watercolors
Decided to start painting again, made this thistle and tree thingy. Perspectives and things are off, but they were fun to make. especially the thistle. Went a little splatter happy with it.

Water Tree
Yeeeeeah, was just trying a little something, but didn't work out to well. On the bright side, everytime I try something and fail, I learn new things I can do, and what I shouldn't do.
Mountain Tree
It was looking good until I got impatient with the last layer and didn't let it dry all the way before painting it. Oh well, lesson learned =P

Weird Tree
Decided to watch some videos on cool techniques for watercolors. Learned that you can make tree branches by blowing on a wet spot with a straw. It's tough to control, but makes kind of a cool effect if it's done right. Going to have to practice this more.

Watercolor Tree
Decided to play with my paints again. This time watercolors!!! Last time I tried them I was so frustrated, but I loooooove how watercolor paintings look so I gave it another try. Did this tree from imagination. It's not great, but loads better than my first watercolor attempt. Plus I had a ton of fun with it =)

Mother's Day Painting
My mom likes orangutans, so I painted her one for mother's day. First time ever using acrylics and
i learned that it is hard. Dries super fast and I don't have any experience with mixing paints, so getting the colors I wanted was pretty difficult.

Good Morning Forest
Made this forest thingy from my imagination. I think the highlights are waaaay too bright. If I were to spend more time on it I wouldn't have used a custom brush for the leaves, but it's 1:30am and i'm tired.

Learning Abstract and Cubism
I always thought abstract drawing and paintings were just stupid random shapes thrown onto a paper, but I learned otherwise in class today. It's about how our brains work. When we look at things like guitars we usually focus on single parts of it. With cubism, each part is on a different plane and brings your attention to individual parts rather than the whole picture.
This drawing was a just a practice for what we are gonna do next week. We traced playing cards and added shadows and highlight to bring different planes forward and other back.

Snowy Mountains
Continuing on my theme with mountains so I can get better at them with these plain ole snowy mountains. Little ones on the right could use some work. =P

Lonely Cherry Blossom
Focusing on one thing at a time. Decided to start with mountains, so here is a lonely little cherry blossom tree blowing its little peddles everywhere and looking out over the icy mountains in the back ground. Not sure how a cherry blossom would get onto a rocky mountain, but it's my favorite tree, so...yeah.

boat
Another tough one. Trying to figure out how to make water. I think i'm going to have to do some research and look at other artist's work to learn it. Was going to finish the boats in the background, but way ran out of time. They are now telephone poles with strings =D

Just a little quickie drawing before work. I dunno why I drew a purple tree, it's 6:00am and it just seemed like it would be fun.

grassy hills
After looking at some other people speedpaintings, i've realized that simply looks much better. In my last two I was preoccupied with getting the details right and they came out sharp and weird looking. I tried to simplify this one and experiment with brushes a bit. I've got a long way to go but i'm pretty happy with how this one came out compared to the others.
