MessssssyyyyyNESSSS!!

     Charcoal is turning out to be one of my favorite things to draw with, minus the messiness. I think I am going to try and draw with it more often. Definitely makes things POP!! =) Still trying to figure out how to use it. I keep smudging my drawing and having to redo things. 

More charcoal!! with a touch of chiroscuro

We got to play with more charcoal today. Didn't completely finish it, but we mainly focused on light and shadows. The professor made us all sit at different angles from the lighted ball, so that we would have different shadows and highlights.

Today in class we worked with charcoal for the first time. It is a lot harder to work with than I thought it would be. A lot messier too. we had to draw a stack of boxes in front of us in perspective with the charcoal, however we were not allowed to use rulers or vanishing points. He made us just eyeball it.

One point perspective room

Our recent homework assignment was to make a room in one point perspective. Not a fan of this time of drawing, but it does make things look cool. I went a little crazy with the shading cause my paper was all smudged and i was just trying to cover it up.

practice = improvement

Spent a good portion of the morning practicing my figure drawing again because I am determined to get better at it. I think that i'm finally starting to get it and understand the curves of the body. Still far from getting it completely, but now it's just a matter of practice practice practice.

P.s. The wispies on the left one were just for fun trying out my new pens =D

Figure..drawing...*twitch twitch*

So it has been too long since I practiced my figure drawing and I'm pretty sure that I'm back to where I started. Looks like i'm gonna have to practice this waaaaay more often so that they don't look like deformed mutants with giant feet.

Today in class we learned pointilism (aka stippling). We had our choice of flowers in vases, and me being dumb decided to choose the see through vase with leaves. Kinda wish I chose the flowers cause those leaves were a pain in the butt. Overall I enjoyed it though. Everyone in class sounded like a bunch of woodpeckers.
